How It All Started

Hi there! I’m Jessica, the owner and founder of The Good Clean, a premium eco- and allergy-friendly house cleaning service in Denver, CO.

When I look back at why I started this company, it really comes down to three defining chapters in my life. These stories shape everything we do today.

Story #1: The Inspiration

For years, my mother cleaned houses to support our family. She worked incredibly hard, but she used harsh, conventional cleaning products day in and day out, unaware of the hidden toll they were taking on her health. Eventually, she was diagnosed with a degenerative lung disease—a condition her doctors believe was either caused or severely worsened by years of daily chemical exposure. Seeing her go through that changed my perspective forever.

Story #2: The Client Experience

Fast forward a few years: I was a busy single mom working a demanding corporate job while trying to raise three kids (including a teenager and a toddler—not exactly the neatest roommates!). Realizing I couldn't do it all, I hired housekeepers to help manage the load.

While I was incredibly grateful for the extra hands, I was consistently disappointed with the results. More often than not, I would come home to a house that either smelled strongly of harsh chemicals, or simply wasn't cleaned thoroughly. Usually, it was both. I knew there had to be a better balance between a spotless home and a healthy environment.

Story #3: The Vision

I realized I wanted to build the kind of cleaning company I couldn't seem to find: one that genuinely cares about its people, its clients, and the planet.

I wanted to create a business that supports its employees' growth and compensates them fairly for their hard work. I wanted a team dedicated to going above and beyond to make our clients' lives easier. And finally, I wanted a company that prioritizes eco-friendly practices to protect both our homes and the environment.

That’s how The Good Clean was born. (And honestly, it was the least messy birth I’ve ever had!)
