How It all started…

Hi!

Jessica here. I am the owner and founder of The Good Clean. I have a couple of stories to tell you — the reasons behind the creation of this company.

Story #1:

Once upon a time, my mother cleaned houses to put food on the table. She used harsh chemicals —some extremely toxic— on a daily basis, without knowing the damage it was doing to her body. After many years of this work, she was diagnosed with a degenerative lung disease, most likely caused, or made worse, by this daily chemical exposure. Yuck. The end.

Story #2:

Once upon a time, I didn’t want to clean my own house. I had three kids (including a teen and a toddler — not the cleanest bunch), and a full-time corporate job. I was a busy single mama, so I hired housekeepers to do my dirty work.

While I was grateful to have the help, I was often disappointed with the results. Either I would come home to a house that reeked of cleaners that were better suited for the operating room, or the job was not very thorough. Or both. Yuck. The end.

Story #3:

Once upon a time, I decided I wanted a cleaning company that cared about its people, its customers, and its planet. A company that would support its employees’ growth, and pay them well for their hard work. A company that would go above and beyond to make their customers happy. A company that would use its profits to benefit the environment.

That’s when The Good Clean was born. (The least messy birth I’ve had.) Yay!
